As in the past, the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary today, continue to search for inspiration and guidance in the life and mission of our patron saints – Saint Bernard and St. Vincent de Paul, to keep the flame of our call to be Contemplative in Action, burning with zeal and vitality.
To facilitate, nurture and sustain the Contemplative dimension of our spirituality, Mother Placide relied on the wisdom of the Benedictine/Cistercian tradition and encouraged her sisters to practice some form of asceticism, self-discipline and mortification.
Fr.Triest was deeply inspired by St. Vincent de Paul and in his attempt to be another friend of the poor, another apostle of charity, he earned the title, the “Vincent de Paul of Belgium.”
