On January 12, 2021, Pakistan Province held the installation ceremony of the new provincial team: Sister Victoria Rahmat as the new provincial, Sr. Genevieve Ram Lal, Sr. Samina Anwar, Sr. Clara Sharif and Sr. Maria Shaukat as councilors, who will serve the province for the next four years. The online consultation process leading up to it had begun in the first week of January with Sr. Deepthika Silva and Sr. Roshni Barla as its facilitators.

The new team was installed online, during a meaningful prayer service at the provincialate, Lahore. The Superior General, Sr. Lucy Jacob, made the appointment on-line from Brussels. The members of the General Council were with (virtual) Sisters of the province present in Lahore. Those who could not be present were online like as Karachi community, Hyderabad community, Peshawar community, Sr. Jamila Hameed (IAN, Philippines), Sr. Noreen Fazal (Melle, Belgium) and the members of the Generalate .

It was the first time in the history of the Congregation that a consultation process and the installation of a Leadership Team took place virtually.

The ceremony began with the prayer service in the evening prepared by the Formation Team. All the sisters from different communities arrived in Lahore by 4:30 pm

Theme of the prayer service was cultivating a “culture of care”

All the sisters assembled in SHS Library. Sr. Sophia Patras – the former provincial carrying the Paschal Candle along with her team, led all the sisters in procession to the Sacred Heart Hall. A hymn (Christ be our light) was played while all the sisters entered the hall.

Sr. Zakia Jamal in her introduction highlighted the mission of Rev. Fr. Peter Joseph, Mother Placide and our pioneer sisters.

A passage from the Holy Gospel (John 15: 5, 16-17) vine and branches was taken for the reflection signifying that we need to abide in Jesus in order to bear fruit for we can do nothing without Him.

The symbol of installation was washing of the feet: through which we get the powerful message of humility and servant leadership.

Anointing of the new team:

The members of the new team were anointed by Sr. Sophia Patras, Sr. Martin de Porres, Sr. Regina Joseph, Sr. Victoria Jacob, and Benedicta Iqbal.

We prayed, entrusting this new beginning to God to send His Spirit of wisdom and insight, the spirit of council and fortitude, the spirit of humility and justice, and the spirit of charity and compassion upon these sisters so that these years of leadership may deepen our Spirituality.

God’s light is handed over to persons specially chosen from down through the ages to illumine the humanity.  The

Congregation gathered praised and thanked the Lord for His light handed over to our Founder Rev. Fr. Peter Joseph Triest and co-foundress Mother Placide and from them, generation to generation. The outgoing Provincial Superior & her Team carried this light for the past eight years giving light and life to the humanity by leading the Province as shepherds and stewards. Their  renewed vision  and  dedication  helped  the  members of the Province to  be  transformed,
